Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Vocational School of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services Culinary Program Unit Advisory Board held a meeting on 11.02.2026 to strengthen the quality of education and sectoral cooperation of the department.
In the meeting chaired by the Head of Department Lecturer Muhammed HAYKIR, the current curriculum and course contents of the Culinary Program were comprehensively reviewed, and ideas were exchanged on developing them in line with sector compatibility.
Commission members made suggestions to enhance the quality of education. It was decided to undertake initiatives on increasing content that will develop students' individual skills, integrating communication, management, and digital technologies topics into relevant course contents alongside professional knowledge, and providing students with professional training (internship) and post-graduation employment opportunities.
The meeting, held online via the Zoom platform, was attended by; Head of Department Lecturer Muhammed HAYKIR, Lecturer Yunus BAYGÜL, and Lecturer Mustafa GÖRÜCÜLER.
External stakeholders, whose opinions are of great importance, also attended the meeting; Gastroantalya Vice Chairman of the Board and Balmy Beach Resort Executive Chef Hüseyin IRMAK, Titanic Deluxe Golf Belek Executive Sous Chef Fatih YANKAVİ, and Burdur Gastronomy Kitchen Chef Resmiye İŞLER. Student representatives Melek ADALAN and Ayşegül YANIK were also present at the meeting and expressed their views.
